My Sunday Shopping Finds!
Hey there, again! :-)
I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday. After I finished blogging earlier this morning, I showered up and went over to my parents’ house for a bit so that my mom could see the car. She loved it! We figured out the insurance while I was there, and then I headed off to… Goodwill!!
When I got inside of the store, I grabbed a cart and made my way over to the home goods section. I looked carefully through each aisle and found some neat things! I love Goodwill because you can essentially look through everything and just imagine all of the awesome things you could do to that piece of furniture or these empty picture frames or the quirkiest curtains imaginable. I can’t tell you how much I love, love love dreaming up possibilities for items that tend to look like other people’s trash. Lol, maybe that’s weird, but I adore it.
I went on the hunt today for a few things — 1) some type of shelving unit for the wall that can hold our mountains of books, 2) a coffee table that I could refurbish to be chic and modern all in one, and 3) framed pictures for our gallery wall that I have started in the living room.
Of course, my eyes are always peeled for anything else that tickles my fancy, but those were my goal items today. Sadly, I didn’t find a-one of ‘em. No shelving units at all. There were a couple of really cool end tables that I maybe could have saved, but I didn’t fall in love. And as for the frames — nothing this time. There actually were a couple of pretty framed photos of what looked to be pencil-drawn fruit, but it’s not the right look for our apartment.
What I did find, though, were two lovelies! ;-)

Look at that awesome, funky pillow. Trippy, huh? I love it. Originally, I thought it could maybe go on our couch in the living room to sort of tie the black and white that we have thrown in there together, but I kinda love it on the dining room table’s bench!

That pillow, mind you, was $4.99.
Um, what?
Okay, so then I found something equally as exciting. I am a person who loves is a freakin’ flower fanatic, so I am always putting flowers all over the apartment — I think it adds cheer. I have one really interesting clear glass vase, but I was looking for a little something extra today in the vase aisle — and this beauty was hidden waaaaaaay in the back of the back. I had to dig, but I pulled it out and immediately wondered why in the heck someone would have given it away!

It’s a beautiful milky white with a glossy coat that is to-die-for. Oh — and that? Three dollars.
Woo woo! See what happens when you dig? ;-)
After my Goodwill shopping spree (haha) I drove on over to Kierland Commons to go to Sur La Table. I walked in and fell in love, like I always do, with the beauty of aisles and aisles of kitchen stuff — my favorite!
We had some money to spend at Sur La Table, and I bought something I have been wanting ever since I saw these pretties in my mom-in-law’s cabinet…

Duralex glasses! :-)
Seriously, could we be more French?! (Okay, we totally could, but I’m waaay excited!)
These are gorgeous, and they will serve as our medium-sized glasses — eventually I’d like to get three sizes, but six was $24.95 so I figured I’d just do one set for right now. But really, aren’t they just so sweet and dainty? I’m hoping that I feel like I am eating my meals at a corner cafe now that I have these cuties. ;-)
In my travels, I also stopped by Anthropologie to check on the prices of handles. We have a really cool antique-y end table in our living room, and I’d love to spruce it up with some new hardware. I found these, and I think this is most likely what we will end up with:

Pretty, huh? I think so. It’ll be a couple of weeks until we do this, though. I’ll show you pictures once we tackle it!
So that’s all I’ve got for you guys this Sunday! I hope you have a wonderful rest of your evening and that you put up your feet and relax! That’s what I’m going to do — make some dinner for my honey, then maybe we’ll watch a movie. Anyway, savor the rest of the weekend — back to work tomorrow! ;-)
Love, M
