Kisses and Cake

So…Where’s Everyone Going to Sit?

Hello, hello!  :-)

How are you all doing this evening?  Did you all have a good day?  I had an incredibly productive work day, which was awesome, and I have loved feeling so energized in the mornings lately.  I really do believe that it is all about the exercise I’ve been doing.  That and a healthy diet can do wonders for a person, it seems.  I’m not feeling nearly as tired as I was before, and I am just so happy — the happiness is radiating off of me like crazy.  I think I’m driving people a little bit nuts with the amount of smiling I am doing.

I think a lot of this feeling has to do with the fact that I am taking things lighter than I have before in terms of the planning process.  I have been so stressed out and just making myself crazy over all of this, and I finally have come to the point where I realize that the important things don’t lay within the cake or the flowers or the dress (though the dress is amazing, if I do say so myself); what matters more than anything else is that Greyson and I are standing before God, promising to be together forever.  So that’s where my focus is these days.  And because that is where my heart is, I just can’t help but be giddy and happy.  :-)  I am in love.

The Floorplan

I’m telling you — this. was. tough.  And not for me.  For my planner.  I had the lovely task of just sitting back and waiting for this floorplan.  Cara, the Coordinator of Chaos, actually had to go and take measurements, and figure out how we are going to squeeze a generous amount of people into a space that really is quite small.

This has taken a lot of time.  And mostly, as far as I understand, the reason it has taken so long is because this is not a conventional venue, therefore, the floorplan isn’t something that can just be made up easily, and room for tables and chairs and a dance floor is limited.

When Cara discussed with me what I was looking for in terms of the reception seating, I told her that I wanted some tables with chairs, and some high-tops that people could stand around.  While we met at Janey’s with my mom one afternoon, we were inspired by the very table at which we were sitting — a beautiful, long, wooden table.  At first we thought — why don’t we use this for the food set-up?  And then, our minds ran with that, and we realized that we could actually rent more of those tables and include some benches to sit on at those long tables.  I still wanted there to be some round tables — and there will be, some with chairs, some high-tops without.  The floorplan looks great, and I am so excited to finally have an idea of what it will look like on the day-of.

Of course, Cara is wonderful, and has already forewarned me that she may have to make some adjustments depending on how everything fits that day, but I trust her, without question.  After all, she is the one who does this almost every weekend, right?!

Here is a peek of the floorplan —

The two tables at the very back are where the dinner and cake will be settled.  The smaller circles are high-tops; and the two big green circles indicate where two trees are located.  And the brown?  That’s the dance floor!  Yee-haw!  ;-)

I’m happy to say that our order is complete, and now all we have to do is put down the deposit.  Woo!  Cara, my mom, and I are meeting next Tuesday to discuss linens for the circle tables.  But as for the wood ones?  We’re going with lace runners from Ebay — we don’t want any two to be alike!  Fun, huh?

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your Wednesday night.  Sleep tight, and I’ll see ya back here tomorrow!

Love, M

Oh, and PS:  Take a look at the picture I snapped of Jamie today taking a mid-afternoon snooze…
