*Bridal Beauty*

Hello, m’dears!

Tonight I am going to be writing about bridal beauty — hair, skin, nails, makeup…the whole thing.  :-)  I am going to start writing more about our wedding because, really, that’s how this whole blog came about, and I have been kind of neglecting that topic — not good!

One of my best friends (and a bridesmaid!) Avery will be doing my hair and makeup for our big day.  Here she is hard at work…

Ain’t she perty??

Ohmygossshh — love this girl!

Avery and I practiced a couple of hairstyles the other evening at my apartment, but for now, my hair is a little short for what I want to do with it.  Or at least what I think I want to do with it — the wheels are still a-turnin’.  It’s a big decision, ya know?  Here are some fun ideas I have…  And Greyson, if you’re reading this, stop right now, mister.

I mean it.

:-)

I love this.  It’s gorgeous and simple, and I think it would look really beautiful with the dress and veil I chose (which, nuh-uh, no way, I’m not gonna show you!).

I love this, too.  The back is just plain gorgeous!  Hmmmm….

I also kind of like this.

Do you see these wheels a-turnin’?  Thoughts, please?

As far makeup, I like a really simple look that just accentuates my features.  I don’t want a ton of anything on my face — just a bit of a more dramatic look than usual because 1) it’s my wedding day, 2) there are going to be photogs takin’ our picture and 3) well, it’s my wedding day!  Here’s what I’m thinkin’-

Pretty, yes?

I do need help with makeup product ideas, though — what are all of your favorites?

As for my nails, I am looking for a lovely sorta-peachy-sorta-nude color that will look good with my skin tone.  I don’t wear those peachy/nude colors well — or, at least, I haven’t found the right one yet.  I think for this purpose I will have to take a trip to our family friend, Heather — the world’s best beauty gal and therapist all in one!

There she is on the right, the beauty queen!  :-)

If any of you have any nail polish suggestions for me, let me know!

As far as skin care goes, I am back on a wonderful treatment plan that I would love to share with you.  I used Proactiv for about two years until, one day, it just stopped working.  I broke out even worse than I had when I first started it, and I was completely panicked — my skin was out of control.  My future mother-in-law introduced me to a skin care line that completely changed everything: Obagi Clenziderm M.D..

I’m telling you, this stuff changed my life.  My skin was terrible, and with this product, everything cleared up.  I mean it.  It’s a tad expensive, but so many skin care stores online sell it, and you can compare prices and all that if it makes you feel better — but trust me when I say that this stuff works — in a big way.  :-)

In the coming months, I also have to choose my fragrance!  This should be fun.  I’ll take one of my gals with me to do this!  And waxing — not so fun, but necessary; these eyebrows are out of control!  (Okay, they’re not that bad, but they’re not wedding day appropriate.  ;-)  A facial would be nice — I will probably get a gentle one done about a month before the wedding!

So that’s what I’ve got so far.  We’ll see what else pops up, and if I’m missing anything big let me know!  E-mail me your tips and ideas for any and all listed above at kissesandcake1@gmail.com.

Xoxo, M
